Title: Driving DEI with Data
Date: Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 1:30 p.m.
When it comes to the current landscape of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), many organizations are either not sure how to get started, or not sure how to take their efforts to the next level. A common phrase in the DEI space is, "moving the needle." But what is the scale on which this needle moves and how do you know that it's indeed moving? What gets measured is more likely to get done. In strategic DEI work, measurement enables us to assess gaps between vision and reality and offers insight and clarity to help achieve goals. Yet, the process of implementing DEI metrics and incorporating them into strategic DEI initiatives can at times be puzzling and challenging. Join Sertrice Shipley, Founder of the DEI consulting firm, Plan to Action, to gain clarity around what should be measured and how to use data to drive your organization's efforts.
As an organizational psychologist who combines inclusion consulting with science, Sertrice will share how participants can use data and metrics to turn what is often considered “soft and fuzzy” DEI work into measurable constructs. Participants will leave the session feeling inspired and encouraged to continue on their DEI journey with a clear path forward for quantifying DEI and deciding which actions to take--not based on the latest DEI trends, but based on your organization's data.
